How Credits Work
Every interaction with Trailhead's AI agents uses credits. Credits are the common unit across all agent interfaces — Assist, Automate, and Delegate. Think of a credit as a single unit of AI work: analyzing a document, answering a question, running a workflow step, or generating a report.
The Basics
One Credit, One Action
Under the hood, AI agents process information in tokens — small chunks of text, roughly a few words each. But you shouldn't need to think about tokens. Credits abstract that complexity away and map directly to the actions your team actually performs.
Simple actions like asking a question or triggering a workflow step use fewer credits. Complex actions — multi-step analyses, large document ingestion, predictive modeling — use more. Your usage dashboard shows exactly what each action costs, with no surprises.

Monthly Allowance
Every plan includes a monthly credit allowance sized for your team. Standard, Enterprise, and Custom plans each come with a baseline that covers typical usage — so most teams never think about credits at all. Unused credits do not roll over.
Additional Credits
Need more? Purchase credit packs on demand or set up auto-replenish so your team is never interrupted. Additional credits are available at volume-based rates — the more you buy, the less each credit costs. Usage is tracked in real time on your billing dashboard.
